Fox F3 MX boot

The Fox F3 is an upgrade of the popular Forma Pro boot. Fox had developed and  tested the new F3 for 18 month with some top riders like James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael advising the engineering team.

he F3 may not look revolutionary as some of the new models (for instance, the Scott genius) but it bring some real good technology and great qualities.

The F3 has no less then four patent pending features:

Biomorphic 3D Chassis that precisely matches your foot curvatures and provide maximal comfort and grip.

In Molded Strap Receivers - increases strap strength & reduces bulk

Outsole Design – Herringbone design provides better peg interface

Fold-Over Burn Guard & Extreme Seal Top Gasket that works perfect.

Putting the Fox F3 on is an easy job as your foot slips down easily into place and is totally locked with zero margins after you buckle the four buckles. 

Protection: The 3D chassis is using multi density plastics. Fox footwear engineering team made specific regions of the chassis harder for protection and support, while leaving other regions softer for flexibility and comfort.

Feel & communication with bike: As the F3 was developed by top riders, an emphasis was given to the issue of "feel". It is extremely important for the rider to feel the bike, the shifter and the breaking pedal. The Fox F3 provides the rider with a very good feel and communication with the bike.

Durability: The sole showed no signs of wearing after 2 weeks of intensive use. The upper part and adhesive also showed no sings. The buckles did not break but I would keep an eye on them since they are the only thing that looks fragile on this boot.

Summary: Fox did a good job here and created a very comfortable and protective boot. The Fox F3 2008 is priced 329$. This is a little expensive because If you add about another 100 $ you can get the top of the line MX footwear like sidi crossfire srs or scott genius. On the other hand, you can get the 2007 models for as little as 199.99 $ and this seems like a really good deal!
