OXTAR CTX Pro 2

The Oxtar TCX Pro 2 is a super stiff boot. We hoped it will get softer but after several rides it wasn’t getting any easier to move around in the TCX-Pros. The Torsion Control System has a trio of rigid sections that are connected via a series of slots and lugs. The TCX Pro was designed to to allow for “normal bending movement of the foot without the annoying deformation of materials used typically for traditional boots.”. It certainly prohibits any excessive movement, but the normal bending movement is a little stiffer then other top of the line boots  and takes time to get used to.

This stiff feeling is the side effect of a steel toe, shank protection, heel guard, ankle pads, leather heat shields, PU toe protector and shin plate, aluminum four-buckle closure system, top gaiter and a dual-compound sole which are designed to protect the rider from harm.

The buckles, sole and steel toe are all replaceable but the boot did not show wear and tear easily. During few month of intensive use the boots did not show any sign of wear and tear. We were especially impressed by the sole as the dual-compound rubber has held up better than any boot we’ve tested before.

The Oxtar TCX Pri uses an inner bootie that must be removed out of the boot in order to put it on. The bootie is a little tight but this can be easily changed by cutting the seam that is stitched across the top.

The amount of stiffness in the boot makes us feel extremely secure once we manage to get into the booties and stiff outer boot. This boot is made in high production standards as craftsmanship gets the higher mark.

Durability is also one of the Oxtar TCX Pro’s remarkable characters. On the negative side we would mention a long break in for the TCX but it eventually pays off as this boot stays stiff enough to prevent excessive motion when it is no longer new.

Priced 323.95 USD, the Oxtar TCX PRO 2  is one of the best boots available today. I could not find one item to really complain about.  Oxtar did a good job!
