The Crossfire SRS
and TA is Sidi top of the line boot made to
compete with the
Alpinestars Tech 10,
Gaerne SG-10
and other
manufacturers top end riding boots.
As the
evolutionary step after the Sidi Force
boot, the crossfire upgraded its predecessor in
all the right places: lighter, more comfortable,
provides a higher level of protection and looks
better.
The
Crossfire is a bit difficult to adjust since you
have to wrap the inner section
and then buckle the outer plastic skirt. Finding
the right span of the buckles may take some time
but after you found the right adjustment you
will never have to change it again. |

|
After that initially adjustment,
the boots fits nice: good support
along the ankle and
calf
and sill there is enough room for
the toes. Some complains came from people with
wide feet saying the crossfire was too narrow
for them. For me and 99% of the riders, this was
not an issue what so ever. |

|
| The Sidi Crossfire
is very comfortable. No need of a break in for
the ankle pivot. Even the srs sole that was
stiff at the beginning became softer and started
providing good feel after just one ride. |
 |
|
The Crossfire
is available in two versions: the Crossfire SRS
with replaceable sole and Crossfire TA with
regular sole. There is no leather in the boot,
which is a good thing. leather really is
obsolete as a boot material in motor sports.
Instead you will find plenty of plastic that can
be washed without destroying the boot. The
crossfire is almost water proof and unless you
are planning on some deep water diving with it,
you will finish the ride with dry feet. |
|
Protection is
top of the shelve: the
boot flexes just about as far as your foot does,
then becomes stiff and reluctant to move any
further. That reluctance keeps your foot and
lower leg from moving in ways it shouldn't since
the boot is stiff as hell, just as it should be.
I was using the Crossfire for four month and the
result was zero injuries and bruises to report,
though I'm sure there was opportunity. |
|
The Sidi crossfire
is lighter then its competitors and this is a
great advantage for some riders. Durability is
good. The only thing you need to pay attention
to are the screws that need to be tighten from
time to time. I recommend using loctite.
Priced 400
to 450 USD, the Sidi Crossfire SRS and the
Sidi Crossfire TA is one of the best boots
available today. All the previous generation
flaws were fixed and I can defiantly say that
Sidi did a good job! |
